Dedicated to the thousands of NASA contractors who are the backbone of America's Human Spaceflight Program.
Well we're living here in NASA Town Getting ready for the final count down Working hard to keep our flyers safe Train 'em in Houston; launch from the Cape Well our fathers launched us up to the Moon Sent their kids to school so we could, too Engineers and scientists abound The brightest and best - in the air, on the ground Living, working here in NASA Town. But a new budget was handed down And it's getting very hard to stay... Now we're working in Obama Town He burned Constellation to the ground No more program left to get us to Mars No, we'll just stop flying; stare up at the stars And we're living now in Bolden Town We thought he'd fight for us and not just lay down Oh, the promises our leaders made If we worked hard; if we stayed brave... But we're living here in NASA town And they're shutting all our contracts down As the Congress People thrash away We tell each child they've still got a good shot You might think we're defeated but I tell you we're not 'Cuz something happened when they started to doubt We vowed to fight; we can vote the bums out! Yes, you'll still find us in NASA Town Cuz' you can't keep a good workforce down And we'll hang in there 'til we launch again The elections are just months away... And we're living here in NASA Town
